Hello, dear visitors and customers. We are glad to greet you on DomainName.com blog, where we will highlight the most frequently asked questions and publish news upon domain industry, new rules and possibilities, peculiarities and policies.
The experience we gained from our work shows the most frequent question asked is: “How do I start and publish my website?” As this article is introductory, we will briefly answer it.
The first thing you should know about websites – they are not solid structures, but consist of 2 or 3 separate parts, which may be ordered from different companies, yet they will function easily if set up correctly.
The first part of your website is its domain name, the name your visitors will type in the address bar to get to your website, like *mybestwebsite.com* It is a virtual label showing your ownership. It consists of the name itself and the extension called .TLD (.com, .net, .info, .us, etc.) Different sources may call them zones or endings or extensions – it does not really matter. The domain will work whatever you will call it, if the name is available. Our Domain Checker tool allows checking availability of the name.
Now we come to the main part of the topic – unfortunately, you cannot buy a domain forever. As it is merely a record in the database it has a term of domain registration and should be renewed on a regular basis. Otherwise it will expire and become available again, so you will lose your ownership and someone else might register the name. It is up to you to take care of your domain name as well as of your other material and intellectual property and renew it on time.
The second part of the website is its content. All the pictures, texts, links, videos and any other material you want to publish on your website should be stored somewhere in order to be accessible by the visitors.
The hosting package is a separate service, allowing you to upload and manage the content of your website, create and manage email accounts to have emails sent not from @gmail or @hotmail but from @mybestwebsite.com for example, which is much more reputable for business. Hosting plans are also purchased for some periods of time and should be renewed separately.
The third part of the website is its interface. The interface is what the visitors will see and the more convenient and unique it is – the better. It can be created by you using ready templates via any free system like WordPress or Joomla, or it can be purchased from any website developing company, the choice is up to you.
This is just a brief introduction into the topic. Your comments and feedback is kindly welcomed, feel free to ask any questions related to our services and be sure to get a detailed answer in a timely manner. Subscribe to stay tuned!
